2026 College Captains

To our Marist-Sion College community,

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as your 2026 College Captains.

As we have reflected on the 2026 College theme, “Full of Grace: Transform the World with God’s Love”, it calls us to consider how God’s work runs through us in our schooling and daily lives. Grace is something that can be fostered through caring for others and being active in our College community.

Our time at Marist-Sion has prepared us for this leadership role through experiences, such as the Santa Teresa Immersion and the Year 11 Retreat. Likewise, previous participation in leadership roles and sporting clubs has influenced the way we think as leaders. We feel that if you’re not winning, you’re learning. Our main aim is to try our best and represent the College with pride.

This year, we aim to establish more forms of senior mentoring across the College. We want to challenge students to step outside of their comfort zones and talk to different people who may be having a different school experience. Aspirations of our year include building a strong foundation of being seen and heard amongst the community by leading actively, showing our physical presence and support to create organic conversations that form connections.

We strive to uphold the reputation of Marist-Sion College by embodying our motto of Truth, by taking the responsibility to be a voice for students in the community, Charity, shown by acting with love, patience and generosity towards all people, and Constancy, to stay committed, be resilient through hardships and staying organised this year.

For us, leadership is about creating relationships with younger peers, keeping an open mind, and fostering a community that walks together to a better, more united future.

We are just like you; we laugh with our friends and feel nervous when unsure, but our smiles are genuine.  We are interested, motivated and back ourselves that we can take this role of College Captains headfirst.

2026 Vice College Captains

To our Marist-Sion College community,

It is with amazing anticipation that we introduce ourselves as the Vice College Captains for this new coming year. We are honoured that we have been granted the privilege of serving this great College.

As the Vice School Captains for 2026, we hope to be positive and uplifting role models for our community within Marist-Sion and for the community of parents and people outside the school. Leadership is about lifting others up to help them achieve their dreams and be the best versions of themselves. We feel that showing up for people makes the world of difference.

For 2026, we want to be the people who show up for others, and to be the encouraging voice, and the warm smile to make people feel welcome and loved, creating a stronger community. Because when we show up for others and use our position to make others safe and included, we are showing and spreading God’s love within our community, transforming our school for the better.  And when we conduct our roles with respect, authenticity, and full of grace, we can make a big impact on the lives of those around us.

The action to which we want to take at the forefront is to make sure everyone, no matter who they are, are seen, heard, included and feel as though their voice matters. The Marist and Sionian charisms promote justice, humility and faith in action.  Although we know change takes time, we hope to lay the foundation for Captains after us to have the confidence to impress and promote change, and not just shy away from it.  We only wish to leave a legacy behind where the influence we present will be thriving in the future.

We cannot wait for what this year has in store.
