Religious Education
Religious Education, based on the Diocese of Sale curriculum, To Live in Christ Jesus, is compulsory for all students from Years 7 – 10.
Our Senior Religious Education Program also includes opportunities for students to live the Gospel Values through Youth Ministry and Music Ministry. These subject choices allow students to lead Sacramental Programs for our feeder Catholic Primary Schools and perform at liturgical celebrations in addition to planning and preparing social justice initiatives.
Our VCE Religious Education program allows students to continue with the school based Religious Education options or complete Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) Units 1 – 4 Religion and Society or Texts and Traditions (based upon VCE subject selection criteria).
Our Religious Education program is supported by a Retreats and Reflection Days Program, designed to meet the needs of the students and offer them an opportunity to develop their sense of self and their relationships from a Christian perspective. Students from Year 7 – 10 will experience a one-day program supporting their classroom learning, while the Year 11 students experience a 3-day, 2-night Retreat and the Year 12 Retreat is an overnight experience.
All of the learning in Religious Education is dialogical and inclusive of people of all religious beliefs and worldviews.
